Schwaner enjoyed a vibrant performance career after studying under Susan Jaffe at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, going on to dancing for companies domestically and abroad including Oregon Ballet Theatre, LA Dance Project, Shanghai Ballet, and City Ballet of San Diego amongst others.

Schwaner’s rapidly expanding portfolio of work as a regarded Choreographer and Movement / Film Director is rooted in his immense capability and ambition to create technical, captivating and immersive dance and movement experiences. His work ranges from stage to screen to print, highlighting his unique eye for individual platforms and client needs. 

Schwaner has been commissioned by numerous organizations including National Choreographer’s Initiative, Dorchester Collection, Maverick Agency, Seoul’s KONNEXCHEON Exhibit, Soho House, Pacific Ballet Dance Theatre, The Dance for Life Festival, and The Malta Dance Film Festival amongst others. His work has been featured around the world in publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, The Guardian, TimeOut Magazine, Maserati Magazine, LA Dance Chronicle and Yuzu Magazine amongst others.
